Each year, we select a national charity with a strong community network to become our Charity of the Year. This becomes the main focus for staff fundraising and receives a 20% 'top up' from the Tesco Charity Trust. In addition to this, the Tesco Charity Trust makes cash grants to local and national charities. Furthermore, the Trust Community Award Scheme awards grants to local projects.

Tesco Charity of the Year

Marie Curie Cancer Care has been chosen as the Tesco Charity of the Year 2008.   We are working together to raise £2.5 million to provide more nursing care at home for terminally ill people.

Local collections and Community Sponsorship

Every month local and national charities hold collections in our stores

Staff fundraising

Tesco encourages staff fundraising for charity by adding a 20% 'top up' from the Tesco Charity Trust to all the money they raise

Race for Life

Tesco is now in its seventh year of supporting Cancer Research UK's Race for Life!
