Code of Business Conduct

Our success as a business comes from our core purpose, "To create value for customers to earn their lifetime loyalty", and the two main Values that underpin it, "No one tries harder for customers", and "Treat people how we like to be treated".

The Code of Business Conduct (the Code) is designed to help guide our staff as they go about their work and is one of the ways we put our Tesco Values into practice.

As a global business, we operate within a complex set of law, regulation, local custom and policy. The Code lays down some of the most important responsibilities that we place with our people, wherever they work. These are serious duties, based on the high standards of ethics we expect from our staff, respect for the law and the need to report apparent wrongdoing. The Code provides guidance on fourteen different topics and indicates the most appropriate points of contact for each one.

A core component of the Code is "Protector Line", our anonymous and confidential helpline, which allows staff to report any workplace concerns they may have and assists us in taking appropriate action where breaches of the law, Code or company policy may have occurred.
