Tesco Charity of the Year, as well as other local charities, can benefit from a 20% top up from the Tesco Charity Trust being added to the money our staff raise.

These are some examples of how Tesco fundraising activities that have previously benefited from the 20% top up:

  • A 19-strong team from Tesco Wisbech tackled an RAF assault course to raise £1,000 for Age Concern
  • Staff at Tesco Oakham, Leicestershire got sticky to raise money for Age Concern by being sponsored to sit in a bath of a trifle. The event raised an amazing £567 for Age Concern
  • A team from Tesco Walsall and Tesco New Oscott Extra chose to be sponsored to abseil down the New Art Gallery in the Town, and managed to raise a massive £10,000 for Age Concern.

Tesco Give As You Earn

Give As You Earn is the most cost effective way for charities to raise money. As the payments are regular, charities can plan for the future.

It's an easy and tax-free way for all Tesco staff to give to charities they care about directly from their pay. Tesco launched the scheme in 1987, and last year over 13,000 employees donated over £839,000 to local and national charities.
